But it’s also hard to make informed child care plans when no one has any idea how long this is all going to last. What are your thoughts on a timeline?

I think realistically we should be planning for the next year. Then 12 months from now, hopefully, things will look very different.I think that’s unrealistic. And child care plans are really different if you think: “The choice I make right now is the choice I’m going to make for the next year” versus “the choice I make right now is for the next eight weeks.

But I think that there isn’t a great number you can look at and say, “OK, if it’s above this number you should do this, and if it’s below this number you should do that.” I wish.COVID-related decisions for themselves and their kids for months now
