Get your blue raincoats and jars of marmalade ready, because the beloved Paddington franchise is set to return with a third installment, and it's bound to be a sentimental one given the official title: Paddington In Peru.
After the second film, fans of the series have been craving a third film more than the protagonist bear craves marmalade. Despite a disappointing update from Ben Whishaw saying that production was still a ways off, those fears seem to finally be put to rest with the announcement of Paddington In Peru. "Yes, I remember that there used to be a Paddington cartoon on the telly when I was little, which was these black and white drawings of the Brown family, and I don’t think they really moved. The only one that really moved, in quite a stiff and staccato way, was Paddington, with his blue coat and red hat. Michael Hordern was the Narrator. I loved that as a kid.
For me it has felt the right time to hand the reins over to another, and one can’t get much better than the truly wonderful Emily Mortimer, she is extraordinarily special. The first and second Paddington films were directed by Paul King, and while he won't be directing this time around, he'll still be attached to Paddington In Peru as a writer and producer. Directing duties this time around will be taken over by Dougal Wilson, who will be making their directorial debut with the upcoming project. Paul King is also joined by a stacked writing team with Mark Burton , Simon Farnaby , Jon Foster , and James Lamont .
'Paddington' The movie that started it all, Paddington received wide and abundant praise for its big heart and stellar sense of humor. The film begins with a family of rare talking, marmalade-loving, Peruvian bears, consisting of Paddington, his Aunt Lucy, and his Uncle Pastuzo. An accident leads to Uncle Pastuzo going missing, and in order to keep Paddington safe, Aunt Lucy sends Paddington to go live in London.
