The Alaska Native Book Fair is happening Friday. Also on tap: Shredfest for snowboarders at Arctic Valley, the Anchorage Symphony’s season finale and other musical performances.

Featuring more than a dozen Indigenous authors — including Lily Tuzroyluke, James Dommek Jr. and Annie Wenstrup, among others — this social and literary event is a celebration of Indigenous storytelling and an opportunity to learn about the world of publishing.

A panel featuring writers Emil Notti, Sam Kito Jr. and Cynthia Notti will be held from 2-3 p.m. and will also be. This event is open to attendees of all ages, with Molly of Denali from the PBS Kids show making an appearance from noon to 2 p.m. Books will be for sale, and attendees can bring their own books for authors to sign. Admission is free.. Songwriters will share the stories and themes behind particular songs as a way to help attendees better understand them and their creative process.
