Symptoms include watery eyes and scratch throats.
One person was taken to a hospital from the Sherman Oaks Galleria on Monday, June 26, and five others evaluated after complaints of watery eyes and other minor symptoms following an unknown odor appearing in a building, authorities said.“Firefighters responded to complaints of an odor in a building and multiple patients with minor symptoms,” Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department said in a statement.
“LAFD Hazardous Materials specialists are testing the atmosphere inside with air-monitoring equipment,” Prange said. “Initial readings are not showing any significant hazard, but the irritant has yet to be positively identified.”
