Great outdoor water pitchers to help you stay hydrated this summer.
While some folks may be comfortable taking a glass pitcher outside I’m definitely not. As far as I’m concerned, an outdoor water pitcher is something that won’t shatter if my 70-pound dog slams into the table in his ongoing quest to finally catch one of those rascally rabbits in our yard. I’m also of the firm belief that a pitcher needs a handle and that anything too round and unwieldy is really more of a jug.
When I think of outdoor water pitchers, my first thought is still the gallon-size Rubbermaid with a red lid my mom had in the ‘90s. I’m happy to report that we can all forget about that one now, because we live in the future and the world is full of gorgeous shatterproof pitchers for any style and budget. Here are eight great outdoor water pitchers to help you stay hydrated this summer. This clear pitcher from Williams-Sonoma is proof that basic can be beautiful.
If you follow any cocktail bloggers on Instagram, you've probably seen an influx of art deco-inspired fluted glassware over the last few years. While it isn't necessarily intended to be used outside, it can certainly stand up to the elements thanks to a stainless steel construction and rust-resistant coating.
This pitcher has it all: a modern look, a 64-ounce capacity, a sturdy handle, and an airtight lid. Some reviewers have complained that it's too tall to fit on the top rack of the dishwasher and that the slender design makes it difficult to clean by hand, but those are small inconveniences for a sleek, truly leak-proof outdoor pitcher. The lid comes in four colors, but I’m partial to the black.
