Pesuruhjaya Polis Sabah Datuk Jauteh Dikun berkata kes direkodkan dari 1 Januari hingga 30 April 2023.

Beliau berkata ia diikuti Penampang , Kudat Papar , Tuaran , Kota Marudu , masing-masing dua di Beaufort, Keningau, Kota Belud, dan Sipitang, manakala Lahad Datu merekodkan satu kes. Malah Bangunan Pentadbiran Negeri, Menara Kinabalu, terjejas manakala kawasan di Damai dan Likas mengalami gangguan empat hari pada awal April.

Dalam satu kenyataan sebelum ini, beliau berkata masalah itu seolah-olah selalu timbul menjelang perayaan menyebabkan mereka percaya bahawa ramai daripada golongan kurang bernasib baik akan melakukan jenayah itu sebagai cara untuk mendapatkan wang dengan cepat. Dalam perkembangan lain polis, Jauteh berkata sekurang-kurangnya 500 anggota akan diaktifkan di seluruh negeri bagi memantau keselamatan awam semasa perayaan Kaamatan bulan ini.
