£500k to be spent on the Waverley this winter in preparation for busy 2023 season

The main deck around the engine and boiler rooms have been stripped, sanded and revarnished

The newly varnished deck will now be covered to protect it during the heavy winter overhaul works which will start next week. A Waverley spokesperson said:"We are anticipating over £500,000 will be spent directly on Waverley this winter on maintenance works."More volunteers are welcome to come forward to help with the task of stripping, sanding and varnishing the bench seats.
