ELYRIA, Ohio - A 50-year-old woman was killed in a car accident Sunday evening after police said a suspected drunk driver crashed into her vehicle.
According to Elyria police, the two car crash happened at the intersection of N. Abbe Road and State Route 57 around 10:05 p.m. Elyria Police Lt. Bill Lantz said the driver of a Ford Escape was traveling southbound on N. Abbe Road and the driver of a Ford Explorer was traveling northbound on State Route 57.The 50-year-old woman was driving the Escape. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.
Police identified the driver of the Explorer as Joshua Thompson, 41. He has been charged with OVI and police said additional charges are anticipated.
