INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana State Police are asking the public to help identify a suspect they believe could be responsible for vandalizing more than 50 vehicles in a downtown parking garage. Police said the incidents occurred Friday in the parking garage on the corner of West Street and Washington Street, across from the JW Marriott hotel and the State Government Center.
Scott Zarazee's Pontiac Grand Am still had streaks of white spray paint on it three days after the vandalism. Cars vandalized in downtown Indy "Rethink what you're doing with your life and how you're affecting other people because karma can be bad," said Zarazee when asked what he thought about whoever spray-painted his car."It can come back on you." Zarazee bought his Pontiac brand-new nearly 20 years ago. He said he's disappointed someone would deface so many cars at once. "There are better things to do with your time than to disrupt so many people's lives," Zarazee said."It just doesn't make any sense." Indiana State Police said a suspect was photographed in the act, but they need the public's help to identify her from the photos below. If you know who this person is or where they are, call Indiana State Capitol Police at 899-8517. You can also call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 262-8477. Zarazee said the vandal spray-painted many of his co-workers' cars, and that they are trying their best to move past the vandalism together. "I imagine there's a lot of people filing insurance claims right now," said Zarazee, who said he would try to remove the paint from his Pontiac himself with mineral spirits."All we can do is share the pain.
