For instance, Tom P., 31, says that he gets more flares when he regularly eats dairy products. “I almost exclusively get flares in my groin, and it’s always so much worse after dairy. I used to eat ice cream most days—it’s my favorite food—but since switching to dairy-free ice cream I get way fewer flares,” Tom tells SELF.
