With the right tools and resources to keep your children focussed, they will benefit from remote learning during these uncertain times FMTNews Learning
With Covid-19 causing the closure of schools to contain the spread of the virus, children across the country have been given temporary resources, especially via online platforms, to study at home.
Designate a space that is far from their playroom and bedroom with enough natural light. Inform other children not to bother them while they are working on their schoolwork. Remind them that although staying home from school might feel like a holiday, they’re not on vacation. Assignments, grades, requirements, and tests are still important.Mentally prepare your kids for this new environment. Expect some objections and also external distractions like television, siblings’ antics, unstable internet connection, etc.
This helps guide them on what activities they can engage in despite staying at home without access to extracurricular activities. Write predictions for a TV show that the whole family watches. Organise a tournament, family card games, board games, or chess.
