Spectre and No Time To Die reinvented James Bond’s greatest antagonist, Blofeld, but more faces from 007’s pantheon of villains could also be revived.

The James Bond franchise reinvented 007's greatest villain with Christoph Waltz as Blofeld, but there are more villains from Bond's rogues' gallery who could be refreshed and join the new timeline. Daniel Craig's James Bond movies, particularly Spectre and No Time To Die, demonstrated that previous Bond villains could be reinvented and successfully incorporated into the 007 franchise reboot. Blofeld aside, plenty of other existing Bond villains would suit a modern reinvention.

A modern movie could reinstate Klebb's sexuality, which was prominent in Fleming's original novel but largely removed from the films. Despite this, Klebb represented the first of many LGBTQ+ coded Bond villains, which could be celebrated more conspicuously in the modern era. Introducing Klebb working as another operative could continue the SPECTRE storyline, stoking potential speculation over Blofeld's death, of which he has suffered many.

Drax is possibly the most appropriate Bond villain for a modern reinvention because his basic template is currently a relevant topic of conversation: billionaires cavorting in space. The present real-world situation whereby wealthy tycoons have become the central figures in a modern Space Race, showing little regard for the environmental consequences and accused of indulging their battling egos, can be exploited by a modern interpretation of Drax in a new James Bond movie.

2 Dr. Julius No Returning to the James Bond movie that started the franchise would be an appropriate way to continue the new 007 timeline and establish the new Bond actor. 1962's Dr. No. featured the titular scientist in a plot to disrupt military rockets as a demonstration of the power of SPECTRE. Played by Joseph Wiseman, Dr. No was the perfect villain for the first Sean Connery James Bond movie, and would be perfect for the next Bond era also.
