“The kind of player that they are getting is someone who is going to war every day, who is going to do a job, who is going to succeed no matter what and who’s is going to get on the field and play with aggression, tenacity, and knack,” he said.“Overall, I am coming in there to dominate and meet the expectations and exceed them. That is the type of player that they getting and I’m just glad that they were willing to give me this opportunity to show them.
More from Zeirlein: “Thomas is a solid run blocker who lacks desired pad level but utilizes his hands and feet to help push defenders where he wants them to go. His footwork as a run blocker is much better than it is in protection, but a move inside to guard could help mitigate that issue somewhat. He’s capable of taking on lateral-blocking duties and has room for continued improvement.
“But at the end of the day, I had to realize no matter what, I am still going to go out there and I’ve got to earn a job, even if I was a fourth-rounder,” he said. “Now, I just I get to go in there with a bigger chip on my shoulder to prove that I belong in the league. So yeah, it was it was a little gut check. The opportunity itself is just amazing, so I’m thankful for God for that, honestly.
