The SAG strike means that most TV shows that continued filming after the WGA strike are now on hold—but a loophole may allow some to proceed.
The SAG-AFTRA strike means that several TV series will be forced to halt filming, but this might not be the story for shows covered by different labor unions. The Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists is officially on strike as of July 14, 2023—joining the Writers Guild of America strike that has been ongoing since May 2023.
Still, it's wholly possible that the HBO series will continue filming for the time being since SAG-covered actors like Emma D'Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Matt Smith, and Rhys Ifans are obligated to fulfill their contracts thanks to Equity. The same is not true for Game of Throne's other spinoff, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight, which had not yet started production and is now stagnant after the WGA strike.
3 Slow Horses Despite being set in England , Apple TV's Slow Horses is not one of those covered by the Equity loophole. The series had finished filming season 3 as of May 2023, and season 4 was already written and ready to film, so the WGA strike didn't affect Slow Horses in that regard. However, the SAG strike is a different story since several SAG actors are on the cast list.
