Police have charged five men in connection with a Friday night shooting at a New Jersey high school football game that injured an adult and two children.

The shooting happened during a game between Camden and Pleasantville high schools in Pleasantville, CNN affiliate WPVI-TV reported. It started at the end of the third quarter. The adult victim, a 27-year-old man, is in stable condition and will undergo surgery, the prosecutor's office said. A 10-year-old is in critical condition. A 15-year-old boy was released from the hospital after being treated for a graze wound.

Phil Murphy said in a statement."I am grateful for the lifesaving swift actions of first responders to tend to the wounded, and our prayers are with the victims for a swift and full recovery.
