Uvalde school shooting report: 5 important things we learned
1. A total of 376 law enforcement officers from federal, state and local agencies responded to the shooting. As
to confront the gunman, some likely knew that injured victims were trapped inside classrooms with him. Others received inaccurate information during the incident, hamstringing their response.. They failed to produce a work order to repair a faulty lock on the door of Room 111 weeks before the massacre, and the principal did not use the school intercom system to alert teachers of the lockdown after a coach spotted the gunman outside and warned school leaders by radio.
3. The gunman, 18-year-old Salvador Ramos, of Uvalde, openly showed violent and sociopathic tendencies in the months before the massacre. A week before the shooting, family members knew he had bought guns.
