New Details: An 8-year-old was killed in a shooting in San Jacinto County.
The incident happened in a house in the Trails End area near Seth and Walter Drive, and there is heavy police presence on the scene. Law enforcement is still looking for the suspect.
San Jacinto County Sheriff Greg Capers said four people were found dead in the house. An 8-year-old, who was also at the residence, was flown to a local hospital in a helicopter. The child later died. Authorities also found three other children at the scene. They were seen by paramedics, and officials determined they were not injured. Two other people were evaluated by a medical team, and they were released.
Deputies were called to the house due to a harassment complaint. Capers said the suspect has been known to shoot his AR-15 in the yard. The suspect is the victims’ neighbor, and he was born in Mexico. Law enforcement is still looking for the man. He is believed to be in a wooded area near the Trail Ends subdivision.
