Police arrested five Chinese nationals on Sunday for illegal detention in Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City.
Siyuan, 32; Ding Fei, 24; and Chen Liqiang, 36. According to the police report, the Security and Surveillance Officer of Okada Manila submitted a CCTV footage showing the suspects illegally detaining a male victim inside Room 15025.
The victim allegedly owed money to the suspects in the amount of P500,000 which the latter demanded in exchange for the victim’s liberty. When the victim was taken to board a vehicle, the victim shouted for help from the hotel’s security guards which led to his subsequent rescue and the arrest of the suspects. All suspects are now under police custody while charges of illegal detention are being readied against them.
