Victim was able to escape, suspects at large: police
Five armed male suspects invaded a home in Winnetka and held a person at gunpoint after one of them posed as a food delivery driver Sunday evening, officials said. Police said the masked group forced their way into the home after one suspect posed as a delivery driver and demanded items from a resident at gunpoint.
Sherrone Moore update:Police said the suspects drove off, possibly in a black Acura RDX without license plates. The home is gated with a call box at the end of the driveway. So, theoretically the homeowner would've had to allow someone in if the gate was in fact closed at the time. Police and contractors have entered and exited the property Monday. It's not clear if the homeowners have returned. Crime scene tape lined the driveway back to the home that sits back from the street, and at one point a vehicle was towed away on a flatbed truck. A limited description of the suspects included an Outback Steakhouse brown paper takeout bag and a couple suspects who wore purple surgical gloves.Copyright © 2026 WLS-TV. All Rights Reserved.
