5,400 pesara polis Selangor hidapi sakit kronik

30 peratus pesara polis hidap sakit jantung, kencing manis, darah tinggi dan masalah saraf di Selangor sudah pun terlantar

SHAH ALAM: Hampir 60 peratus atau 5,400 pesara polis di Selangor berusia antara 60 hingga 79 tahun menghidapi penyakit kronik yang memerlukan rawatan perubatan di hospital dan alternatif.

Timbalan Pengerusi Persatuan Bekas Polis Malaysia Selangor, Zulkepli Mohd. Ali Piah berkata, jumlah itu meliputi 9,000 pesara wajib yang berdaftar dengan pihaknya setakat ini. “Justeru, kita menggunakan pendekatan membantu mereka bagi mendapatkan rawatan di hospital selain kaedah terapi atau alternatif,” katanya ketika ditemui pada program bersama Pertubuhan Sentuhan Kasih Al-Qalam yang turut dihadiri Presiden Al-Qalam, Datuk Seri Dr. Baharudin Abu, hari ini.

“Ada daripada ahli dan keluarga mereka memilih untuk berubat secara alternatif terutama yang menghadapi masalah saraf. Oleh itu, kerjasama dengan pusat rawatan seumpamanya memudahkan lagi urusan mereka selain perubatan di hospital sedia ada,” ujarnya.
