IPOH: The driver of the four-wheel drive vehicle who is believed to have caused the death of two teenagers in a hit-and-run at KM38 of Jalan Ipoh-Kuala Kangsar near Taman Desa Salak, Sungai Siput , has been arrested.
When contacted, Sungai Siput OCPD Superintendent Mohd Khaizam Ahmad Shahabudin said the man, in his 50s, was arrested near a farm in Salak Baru on Friday at about 1.20pm."Our Motorcycle Patrol Unit managed to track him down near the farm and arrested him," he said, adding that the man works as a contractor.In the 7.10am incident on Friday, the man, who was coming from the Kuala Kangsar direction, was said to have made a sudden right turn into a junction near the housing estate.
His vehicle entered the opposite lane and hit the motorcycle the two victims were riding on, before fleeing from the location.
