The San Francisco 49ers have signed veteran wide receiver Chosen Anderson amid speculation about a potential Brandon Aiyuk trade, per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Anderson reportedly fielded multiple offers but chose a team with an immediate need for a wide receiver in San Francisco.Rumors have swirled all offseason long surrounding a potential trade of Aiyuk. While Aiyuk officially requested a trade in mid-July, the 49ers were adamant that they weren't going to move him.
With all that being said, the 49ers appear to be looking for contingency plans at receiver. So, on Thursday, they reached a deal with Anderson.Anderson, who used to go by Robbie but now goes by 'Chosen,' has bounced around the league over the last couple of seasons. After spending the first four years of his career with the New York Jets where he signed as an undrafted free agent, Chosen was with Carolina for a couple of seasons.
