The move comes after multiple 49ers linebackers exited the game with injuries during a preseason matchup against the Miami Dolphins. Wooten played in three October games for the Carolina Panthers this season, primarily on special teams. He entered the NFL as an undrafted rookie with the Arizona Cardinals in 2022. He has also spent time with the Carolina Panthers before being released on November 7th.
