Punter Mitch Wishnowsky got cleared off COVID reserve and is available for the 49ers’ home finale, while quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo remains doubtful.
Punter Mitch Wishnowsky, the only 49ers’ player to go on the COVID-reserve list this season, got activated Saturday and can play in Sunday’s home finale against the Houston Texans.
Garoppolo remained doubtful, which is what the 49ers designated him Friday, when they declared out linebackers Azeez Al-Shaair and Dre Greenlaw , as well as defensive tackle Maurice Hurst. The 49ers’ release of running back Brian Hill signals the likely return of leading rusher Elijah Mitchell . Running back Trey Sermon has not been activated off injured reserve despite practicing the past two weeks.
