49ers QB Roll Call: How is Brock Purdy’s arm for encore practice?
SANTA CLARA — Friday brought the 49ers’ third practice of training camp, and, most important, it offered a look at how Brock Purdy’s surgically repaired elbow responded on back-to-back days of action. Here is a recap of how he and the other three quarterbacks performed:All 18 first-team snaps went his way, just as all 21 did in Purdy’s practice debut Thursday, meaning that his arm showed no ill effects or required any extra rest in his valiant comeback.
He wrapped up a 6-of-12 passing line with his third completion of the morning to Christian McCaffrey. A day after going 3-of-10 with an interception, Purdy nearly had a pass snagged by nickel back Isaiah Oliver as he converged on tight end Brayden Willis. Purdy’s other completions went to Brandon Aiyuk, who remains a favorite target for any quarterback.
