The addition of Lynn could help soften the blow if offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel becomes the Dolphins’ head coach.
Anthony Lynn is being hired as the Assistant Head Coach of the San Francisco 49ers, per league sources. Lynn – who had other NFL and college offers – is expected to now be a key cog in the 49ers’ offense and run game.Lynn replaces Jon Embree as the assistant head coach. Embree left the team this week after serving as the 49ers’ assistant head coach and tight ends coach since 2017.
Lynn was let go last month by Detroit after one season as the Lions’ offensive coordinator. Priot to that, Lynn was the Chargers’ head coach from 2017-20, 33-31 with one playoff appearance. He also has been an assistant with the Bills , the Cowboys, the Broncos, the Jaguars, the Jets and the Browns.
