“It’s something I’ve played with for two years and now (the tissue) is all scarred over,” George Kittle said at Super Bowl Opening Night.
Observers might never know it by the way he plays, but San Francisco tight end George Kittle has been playing with a torn labrum for the last two seasons, and he has no plans to undergo surgery in the foreseeable future.
“It’s something I’ve played with for two years and now is all scarred over,” he said at Super Bowl Opening Night on Monday, six days before his team faces off against the Kansas City Chiefs. “It’s something that if I need surgery, it can wait until I’m done playing football.” He acknowledged that at times, he experiences pain in his shoulder. But it doesn’t hinder his execution, he said.
