44 former members of CFOs, CTGs pledge allegiance to gov't

A total of 44 former and active members of Communist Front Organizations (CFOs) and Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGs) who surrendered to the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) have pledged their allegiance to the government. ManilaBulletin

The event was attended by Regional Peace and Order Council Chairman and San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora and NCRPO director Police Major Gen. Edgar Alan Okubo at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City.

There were also five returnees from the "New People's Army," two from the "Sangay ng Partido sa Lokalidad," one from the "Larangang Uno Komiteng Probinsiya," two from "Bagong Hukbong Bayan S4-Squad Caloy," one from "SR SOG SL NEMAC," and two secretaries from "KADAMAY." The surrendered firearms include three improvised home-made shotguns, three .357-caliber revolvers, two M16A1 rifles without attachments, one AK47 rifle, one M14 sniper's rifle, and one M16A1 rifle with an M203 grenade launcher.

“As chairman of the Regional Peace and Order Council of the National Capital Region, I congratulate the various government agencies, led by the Philippines National Police, for having successfully converted the allegiance of our fellow Filipinos to the Republic. To the returnees, I welcome you back into the fold and assure you that our government will do everything to help you assimilate into a life of peace and prosperity as citizens of the Republic of the Philippines,” he added.
