MANILA - Police on Friday arrested 53 people, including Chinese nationals and Filipinos, for allegedly continuing Philippine offshore gaming operations in Parañaque City despite the coronavirus lockdown.
The suspects are facing multiple charges, including illegal possession of firearms and breaching quarantine protocols under the Bayanihan To Heal As One Act. The lockdown, set to end on April 30, has been extended in several areas, including Metro Manila, believed to be the epicenter of the coronavirus disease 2019 outbreak in the country.
