, schools are trying to come back to a new type of normal. As of this month, 73% of the state’s public school districts are allowing students back to class five days a week. Also, just one district out of 610 is still fully remote.as the number of coronavirus cases grew in Ohio and to try to prevent an even greater spread. As schools realized that closure would then extend to the end of the school year, administrators struggled with creating new remote plans nearly overnight.

Public pre-school enrollment dropped the most by 27%.In contrast, online charter schools saw numbers soar with a 50% increase in enrollment during the pandemic. Next week, districts must have “extended learning plans” into the state that target struggling students. Many schools are offering extra help, tutoring and curriculum during the summer or after school next year.
