Forty-two local and foreign tourists, who were stranded in Corregidor Island, Cavite due to strong gale winds, have been rescued, according to the Philippine Coast Guard.
Upon receipt of the letter, the coast guard said it immediately dispatched BRP Capones on Tuesday morning.
The stranded tourists were “safely disembarked” at Pier 15, South Harbor in Manila and later brought to Palm Coast, Marina Parañaque. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration on Wednesday said a gale warning remains raised over the seaboards of Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, Ilocos Norte, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Surigao del Norte and the eastern coast of Palawan due to the northeast monsoon.
