Kathleen Laura Ranft was last seen on April 5, 1985, after finishing her shift at Lippe Tire Service in Seguin around 5:50 p.m. Friends and family say she was in the process of starting a new chapter in her life, preparing for the business’s grand opening while also separating from her husband and arranging to move into her own apartment. That evening, Ranft’s husband helped move some of her belongings into the new residence and reported seeing her for the last time between 9:30 and 10 p.m. The following day, her light blue Chevrolet Citation was discovered abandoned in the parking lot of the Country Cabaret in Seguin. Ranft has not been seen or heard from since.The Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office says the case remains open.
