The state fair wraps up this weekend, but there’s much more to do.
Colorful produce awaits shoppers at the Kenley's Alaskan Vegetables and Flowers stand at the South Anchorage Farmers Market on Wednesday, September 4, 2013, in front of the Dimond Hotel. Farms and gardens have been producing all month and this is a great weekend to hit farmers markets in town, which should be flush with produce and other goods.
Theis back downtown at 225 E St. and runs from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday.Alaska State Fair The final weekend of the fair has arrived and there is still time to catch a concert, carnival ride or corn dog. Sunday is Military Appreciation Day and Monday is First Responders Day with discounted admission available for those groups on each day. The fair wraps up at 8 p.m. on Monday, which is Labor Day.Anchorage Community Theatre presents this Neil Simon classic as four distinct comedic stories are told at the Beverly Hills Hotel.collaborative fundraiser with Speedway Cycles and Hilltop Ski Area. This 20-mile gravel course starts at Hilltop Ski Area, and racers will take a winding Tank Trail loop to the Arctic Valley golf course gate and return to Hilltop for awards and fun.
