Not only do I want to see individuals be reminded of our responsibility as ocean advocates to protect this incredible resource but see government and corporate leaders take meaningful steps to address the threats facing our oceans.””My big hope for World Oceans Day this year is fornot to be given the go-ahead.

“There are so many threats to the ocean and they all boil down to the troublesome, conflicting attitude people have towards the blue parts of our planet. On the one hand, we endlessly take whatever we want from the ocean, and assume it will keep on giving. At the same time, we’re dumping an endless stream of pollutants and unwanted rubbish into the ocean, from carbon, to plastics and ‘forever’ chemicals. All of that needs to change.
