A van crash in Davao City resulted in four fatalities and two injuries.

Four passengers died and two were injured after the van they were riding in collided with an oncoming van that reportedly lost its brakes in Davao City. According to Rgil Relator's report of GMA Regional TV on 24 Oras Weekend, CCTV footage showed a gray van traveling in the inner lane of the Davao-Digos Highway in Barangay Binugao in Toril District at 7:41 a.m. on Saturday. A few moments later, it suddenly crossed into the innermost northbound lane of the highway.

However, instead of curving, it went straight, colliding with a white van in the opposite lane. The white van stopped in the middle of the southbound lane, while the gray van came to a halt a few meters away. A black SUV that was following the white van also almost collided with the gray van but luckily escaped. Later, some injured passengers from the white van were moved to the side of the highway. Several people immediately rushed to help provide first aid. The injured were quickly taken to ambulances from the barangay and rushed to the Southern Philippines Medical Center. 'They came from Samal and one from Digos. They met there in Binugao. And then, there was a casualty, we brought them to SPMC,' said Kagawad Rogelio Mayda, head of the BDRRMC Binugao. The driver of the white van survived. Authorities are still investigating the relationship of the passengers in the white van. Initial investigation by the Traffic Enforcement Unit revealed that the driver lost control of his vehicle, causing him to swerve into the lane of the oncoming white van. The driver of the white van, who is now in the custody of the TEU, has not yet released a statement. GMA Regional TV is still trying to get a statement from the families of the victims
