JUST IN: 6 of Singapore's new COVID19 community cases are currently unlinked; 2 imported cases travelled from India and another arrived from the Philippines

SINGAPORE: Singapore reported 399 new COVID-19 infections as of noon on Tuesday , with nine infections in the community, said the Ministry of Health ."The higher number of cases today is mainly due to a batch of test results from the previous day reported to MOH after the 12pm cut-off for yesterday’s reporting."Seven were picked up as a result of surveillance and screening and two had already been placed on quarantine earlier.

Serological tests will be conducted for their household contacts to determine if these cases could have been infected by them.A FairPrice outlet at Joo Chiat Complex was added to the list of locations visited by COVID-19 cases during their infectious period. It was visited on Jul 13 from 7.35pm to 8.40pm, and those who have been identified as close contacts of the confirmed cases would have already been notified by MOH.

The remaining case had arrived in Singapore from the Philippines on Jul 19 and was taken directly to the National Centre for Infectious Diseases as he was symptomatic. The Philippine national is a seaman currently holding a special pass who will join a vessel that called in Singapore's port."Overall, the number of new cases in the community has decreased, from an average of 13 cases per day in the week before, to an average of 10 per day in the past week.
