Withers diedThe legendary Wonder, sitting at his home piano, told viewers:"During hardships like this, we have to lean on each other for help. My friend, the late Bill Withers, has the perfect song for that, and I want us to remember him tonight."
He then performed one of Withers' most beloved classics,"Lean on Me." The popular tune about friendship came from the late artist's 1972 sophomore albumPartway through"Lean on Me," Wonder transitioned to his own timely ballad"Love's in Need of Love Today.
