SAN DIEGO – The 38th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Human Dignity Award breakfast is happening January 13th, the first in-person event in two years.
Icon Dee Sanford joined KUSI’s Lauren Phinney on Good Morning San Diego to reveal the two 2023 award recipients live. This year, Lincoln High School Football Coach, David Dunn, and the Founder & Executive Director of Heartbeat Music and Performing Arts Academy, Tyra Hawthorne, will be be honored. This year’s breakfast is already sold out, and all proceeds will benefit the Jackie Robinson YMCA, which serves a diverse community in Southeastern San Diego.
