CEBU CITY—Hundreds were arrested for violating quarantine protocols on the first day that the city transitioned from modified enhanced community quarantine (MGCQ) to general community quarantine (GCQ) last Saturday, August 1.
Usually busy on normal days, Jakosalem Street in Barangay Parian, Cebu City looks like a deserted place on a Sunday when no one is allowed to go out except for authorized persons outside residence.
Ligan said police observed maximum tolerance by reprimanding some violators but cases were filed against those found to be repeat offenders.
