34-year-old man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with Jamacha-Lomita shooting [Breaking]
A 34-year-old man arrested Sunday was booked into jail on suspicion of attempted murder and other charges in connection with a shooting that left a man injured in the Jamacha-Lomita neighborhood.
Eric Bryant Perez was being held without bail in San Diego Central Jail on suspicion of attempted murder, carjacking, two counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm, evading police and participating in a criminal street gang. He is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday.In the first shooting, 54-year-old John Wesley Dooley was mortally wounded shortly after 5:20 a.m. along Equitation Lane near Plaza Bonita Road. Sheriff’s officials said Dooley was a transient.
In the second shooting, San Diego police received a call from a man just before 8:30 a.m. who said he had been shot in the arm with shotgun pellets near the intersection of Cardiff and San Vicente streets. The victim was taken to a hospital and was expected to survive, police said.Soon after the shooting, police chased a truck that matched the description.
