"I LOVE the novel, and I love the whole apocalypse/post-apocalypse genre. All three movies have never been able to capture what was so great about the novel.
The Will Smith version was somewhat close, but it was a CGI mess that confused vampires with zombies and totally confused the message of what the novel was trying to deliver. What's upsetting is that it wouldn't be hard at all to make a perfect adaptation for. It's pretty simple and face forward. It's the fact that Hollywood is afraid to give us dark and realistic endings.
