A pedestrian died after he was struck at an Escondido intersection Saturday night

Police in Escondido are investigating a hit-and-run crash that left a 32-year-old man dead Saturday night.

Someone called 911 about 6:20 p.m. after seeing a man on the ground at the intersection of Seven Oaks Road and Rock Springs Road, police Sgt. Russ Whitaker said. Arriving officers found several motorists who were performing CPR on the man, police said. Paramedics rushed him to Palomar Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.Police did not release a description of the vehicle nor information about a possible suspect. Police asked anyone with information about the crash to call Traffic Investigator Paul Smyth at 760-839-4423.
