A sedan traveling westbound on Baseline Road near 47th Avenue went left of center and hit an SUV traveling eastbound around 4:30 p.m., officials said.
A 30-year-old man was killed and two young children were hurt in a Friday evening crash near 47th Avenue and Baseline Road, the Phoenix Police Department said.
A sedan traveling westbound on Baseline Road went left of center and hit an SUV traveling eastbound around 4:30 p.m., police spokesperson Sgt. Vincent Cole said. The driver of the sedan, later identified as 30-year-old Trevon Burris, died at the scene. Two children in the vehicle were taken to a hospital but are expected to survive their injuries, Cole said.
Police spokesperson Sgt. Philip Krynsky on Saturday said officials could not release the exact ages of the passengers but that both were"young" children.No further details were immediately available. An investigation is ongoing.
