because waiting for water to boil is the WORST part of making pasta. What's the saying about watching paint dry? Well, when you're hungry, boiling water is worse than that."This product works amazingly well! I followed the directions exactly as it said, and my pasta came out perfectly! It's great for when I get off work late at night and don't feel like dirtying up a strainer and pots. I can make a perfect self-serving for myself or a whole box if I want.
Also, I can pop it in the microwave and walk away to get other things done while I wait which you can't do with pasta on the stove. I love that the lid is also a built-in strainer, but please be aware that the directions state to NOT microwave with the lid on. I can see that the only bad reviews are because of the plastic melting which can only happen if you microwave the cooker with the lid on, and in that case, it would be your fault for not following the directions.
