Three people were shot and injured within about five hours in separate incidents on Chicago’s South Side late Friday night into early Saturday morning.
The victims ranged in age from 20 to 37 years old.A 37-year-old woman in a verbal altercation with a known offender in an apartment in the 5600 block of South Emerald Avenue in the Englewood neighborhood around 8:30 p.m. The altercation became physical, police said, and the offender pulled out a handgun and shot her in the stomach.Arriving officers were directed toward the gunman and arrested without incident.
in the West Englewood neighborhood when he heard two cars drive by at a high rate of speed, police said.The man heart gunshots and realized he was shot in the hip. The two cars drove off.The victim was treated by paramedics and taken to Christ Hospital where he was listed in good condition.No one is in custody and area detectives are investigating.A 20-year-old woman was in a car in the 10700 block of South Avenue F in the East Side neighborhood a little before 4 a.m.
