– Three people, including two children, are dead following a rollover vehicle crash on the city’s Northeast Side late Sunday night, according to San Antonio police.
The crash happened around 10:20 p.m. on Thousand Oaks Drive, not far from Alamo Blanco Street and Perrin Beitel Road. According to police, a red sedan was crossing Thousand Oaks when it was T-boned by a silver sport utility vehicle. That’s when, police say, the sedan rolled into a utility pole and the wire crashed down onto the hood of a pickup truck traveling in an eastbound lane.
Police said firefighters attempted to rescue the three people from the sedan, but they all were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV was taken by ambulance to an area hospital as a precaution. A passenger inside the SUV was not injured, police said. The family of the victims say they were headed to an H-E-B about three blocks away from their home to get medicine for their mother’s upset stomach. The relative says when they didn’t come back, the mom went out looking for them and saw the wreckage. The San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department and EMS all responded to the call.Copyright 2023 by KSAT - All rights reserved.
