The best Paramount+ movies to watch in December according to Rotten Tomatoes include 'Something's Gotta Give' with Diane Keaton
But which ones should you stream? Watch With Us has consulted with Rotten Tomatoes’ handy Tomatometer and Popcornmeter ratings and picked the best ones to watch this month. Celebrate the rest of 2025 by watching the searing British drama I, Daniel Blake, the excellent superhero movie Batman or the rom-com Something’s Gotta Give starring the late, great Diane Keaton.
When 59-year-old British widower Daniel Blake suffers a heart attack, his doctor orders him not to go back to work. Since no one else will pay the bills, he has to apply for welfare, but is quickly treated like a cog in a bureaucracy that treats people like him as a statistic. But when he befriends single mother Katie , he begins to find some purpose and optimism in his life. With the health care debate and concerns about affordability still raging on in America, I, Daniel Blake is more topical than ever. While it’s set in England, Daniel’s problems are universal — he wants to be a part of a society that continually lets him down. This film refuses to pull punches as Daniel’s situation gets worse before it gets any better. But the downbeat ending is a rallying cry that might make you stand up and cheer, “I, Daniel Blake!”Batman was one of the first big-budget comic book movies, and no movie has quite matched its pop culture impact. In the crime-ridden metropolis Gotham City, a new crime kingpin has emerged: the Joker . But who is this madman who poisons people randomly and dresses like a clown? And what ties does he have to Bruce Wayne , Gotham’s wealthiest bachelor, and the Batman, a new crimefighter who is almost as scary as the Joker himself? And does he know that Wayne and Batman are the same person? Batman eschews the camp of its ‘60s television show and fully embraces dark shadows and late ‘80s grittiness, making this iteration the most overtly Gothic Dark Knight the world had seen up until that point. As Wayne, Keaton isn’t entirely convincing as dreamboat playboy, but as Batman, he’s perfect — withdrawn, moody and fearsome. Nicholson stole most of the spotlight when it was first released, but it’s Keaton’s messed-up superhero that remains the movie’s standout feature. When Diane Keaton passed away this past October, several obituaries highlighted this 2003 comedy, which helped Keaton land her fourth and last Oscar nomination for Best Actress. She stars as Erica Berry, a successful playwright who has yet to bounce back from her divorce. When she meets her grown daughter’s much older boyfriend, record exec Harry Sanborn , she’s repulsed by his smoking and chauvinistic behavior. But when a heart attack forces him to stay at her home for several weeks, Erica can’t help falling for the guy. Will Harry finally grow up and date a woman his own age? Directed by Nancy Meyers, Something’s Gotta Give is pure escapism, complete with a luxurious seaside home no writer could possibly afford, and a kitchen Martha Stewart would envy. But the chemistry between Nicholson and Keaton is real, and they create a late-in-life romance that will make you swoon no matter how old you are.
