3-month-old infant in Katy dies after apparent severe trauma, authorities investigating

The Harris County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a child was discovered with what appeared to be severe trauma in a home on Penmark Lane.

Deputy Investigator Mills with the Special Victims Unit Child Crimes Against Children said deputies responded to an unknown medical emergency involving a three and half month old who was found unresponsive in the 1700 block of Penmark Lane, just after 3:45 p.m.

Officials said deputies tried to render aid to the three-month-old for a few minutes while waiting for a helicopter to arrive.
