A THREE-MONTH-OLD Lumad infant fatality was reported on Monday, May 18. This is the second case of Lumad infant casualty, following the death of an eight-month-old Lumad infant who also died and reportedly resided inside the UCCP Haran compound.

Reports showed that the three-month-old infant, whose identity is yet to be disclosed, was rushed to an unknown hospital by a Lumad couple, identified to be the parents on the evening of May 17, 2020. The body was said to be cremated right away and the parents of the infant immediately returned to UCCP Haran premises on the morning of May 18, 2020.

Meanwhile, the parents of the Lumad infant are reportedly prohibited to come closer to the makeshift dwelling inside UCCP Haran and is subject for health check as well as quarantine. Authorities weigh the possibility that the dead infant might be a carrier of coronavirus as the infant also resided inside UCCP Haran premises. At present, investigation is now in full swing to identify the true cause of death.
