Three men were seriously wounded in an overnight exchange of gunfire in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side, Chicago police said.
Shortly before 12:45 a.m., a group was standing on the street in the 3300 block of West Maypole Avenue when an exchange of gunfire broke out, wounding three victims, police said. A 33-year-old man was shot in the lower back and was taken in critical condition tom Stroger Hospital. A 32-year-old man suffered a wound to the lower calf and was dropped off at Mount Sinai Hospital where he was listed in fair condition. A third man suffered a wound to the back, and was taken to the same hospital and listed in critical condition, police said.
